Absolutely brilliant experience. We contacted Liswi for a high tea reservation for my mum's 90th birthday celebrations.
Slow-cooked lamb, generous plates and higher-end presentation without the higher-end prices. A quirky little gem on the road between Joburg and the coast.
The Black Sheep sits in a historic house on J.A. Calata Street in Cradock, with a garden, a stoep and a lemon tree out the back.
Inside, the decor is half the fun: dark walls, zebra prints, fresh flowers and art in every corner. Out on the plate, it's Karoo cooking with a modern touch: lamb stew, chops, steaks and seasonal vegetables.
Travellers stop for an iced coffee and wish they could stay. Locals come back for birthdays, anniversaries and our high teas, which we're always happy to arrange.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a menu built around Karoo lamb and seasonal produce.

"Very good quality food. Absolutely worth it. Leaning towards higher-end style presentation. Portions are just right. Not too expensive. Perfect quality."Google review

I found this quaint little gem in a busy street looking for a quick stop en route to Port Elizabeth. One of the best iced coffees I had in a long time. Interesting decor.
In the centre of Cradock, an easy stop on the N10 between the Karoo and the coast.
